Hello, Geeks!

Well, here we are. Here’s FORGE: an itty-bitty organization, just hatched, but with big dreams. The two women who founded FORGE have been lifelong geeks, and have watched along the way as women and members of the LGBTQ+ community have struggled to feel a part of the geek community. Through a lack of representation on the page and on the screen, and behind the camera or the pen, unwelcoming interactions with other geeks, we have sometimes felt like we are showing up at a party to which we were not invited, and not welcome. But we are here. We are reading the graphic novels, going to the movies, playing the games, wearing the costumes, writing, coding, building, crafting, sewing. We geek, and we love it. Let us say that again: We geek, and we love it. That’s where FORGE comes in, carrying with us the simple idea that everybody should be free to geek however they want, whenever they want, with whoever they want, being whoever they want. That’s it. That’s our goal, and this website is the start. Here, we will share what inspires us, organize events, have discussions, give each other advice, and support each other. Any geek who wants in is in. As long as you share our philosophy of inclusivity, creativity, and celebration, and our love of all things geeky, we want you with us here at FORGE.

In love and geekiness,

UberDorkGirlie and The Ruthless Geek
